He is widely recognised as a pioneer and world leader in Compartment Fire Behaviour Training (CFBT), as well as an internationally recognised author, presenter, and expert in "realistic live fire training". His dedication was strongly influenced by tragic fire incidents involving colleagues, motivating him to study international best practices in the UK and Sweden in 1997 and develop the first nationally recognised CFBT program in Australia in 1998. This foundation of extensive real-world experience and a deep understanding of the need for improved safety and effectiveness underpins their training.
